Angie Wuelling, MA, CCC-SLP
Owner, Bilingual & Certified Speech-Language Pathologist, & Myofunctional Therapist
hi! I'm Angie.
I’m the founder of Willow Speech & Myo (formerly ChitChat Therapies), a bilingual speech-language pathologist, and a myofunctional therapist.
In 2018, I started this practice with one simple, heartfelt goal: to treat every child and family exactly how I’d want my own to be treated. Previously, I'd seen over 70 children per week at a public preschool. While I loved the kids and their parents, I knew I could make a deeper impact by slowing down. I wanted to build real bonds, become a true partner to my families, and provide the kind of one-on-one care that changes lives.
Beyond "Just Speech"
As my patients grew, so did I. I realized that many of my young patients couldn't make the R, S, and L sounds with traditional speech therapy techniques. Stumped, I did lots of research and discovered a field called "orofacial myology." I realized that so many speech struggles are actually rooted in how the face and mouth are structured. This is true for children, teens, and adults—and especially when people struggle with R, L, and lisps. I also learned how the structures of the face and mouth impact breathing, sleeping, eating, and oral resting postures from infancy to older ages.
I’ve dedicated hundreds of hours to learning from the best in the field. By collaborating with fellow speech and myofunctional therapists; airway-centric orthodontists, dentists, and ENTs; and bodyworkers, I ensure a truly holistic approach. Whether I’m working with you or your child, I believe that looking at the whole picture is the only way to achieve lasting results.
My Background
I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I received a national scholarship for my work with children with language disorders. I completed my undergraduate degree at Truman State University, graduating Cum Laude, and finished my Spanish minor while studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain.
Why I Do This Work
Being a therapist isn't just my job—it's my calling. I’m not here to merely teach you or your child how to compensate—I’m here to find the "why."
By looking at the root causes of difficulties with speaking, breathing, sleeping, and eating, we can create lasting change and support healthier lives.
